Description
These STL files will let you 3D-print your own Combination Cheese Mold / Press. It replaces both a Cheese Mold and a bulky Cheese Press with a easy-to-use device that takes up just a small amount of cupboard space and produces excellent home-made cheeses. It’s easy to use, and there are a wide variety of cheeses that can be made at home with some simple, inexpensive ingredients. Read how to use this press to make a cheddar cheese.
This press is intended to be used for recipes that use 2 gallons of milk to make a 2 pound cheese. The main mold area is 5 inches (12.7 cm) across and 5 inches (12.7 cm) high. The entire press is 8 inches (20.3 cm) across and 10 inches (25.4 cm) high when assembled. The tallest piece that you’ll need to print is the mold part; that is 6 inches (15.2 cm) tall.
***NEW DESIGN***
The side screws and wingnuts have been enlarged for extra strength. Read more about the changes here.
I recommend printing the parts in PETG or other food-grade filament along with these printer settings:
0.2mm layer height
0.4mm nozzle
40% infill
5 walls
7 top layers
The set includes 6 parts:
Cheese Mold
Follower
Bracing Bar
Wingnuts (Print 2)
Screw Press
The Take-Off Tray is optional. It has holes for the screw ends so it fits closely over the top of the mold, making flipping your cheese and removing it from the mold easier. Contact me if you’d like the additional STL file for the Take-Off Tray.
